Florida's Space Coast

The Space Coast, area by area

The Atlantic barrier island, Indian River mainland, launch complex, cruise port, and South Brevard beaches form one long region divided by water and causeways.

Five parts of the coast

Kennedy Space Center and Merritt Island form an attraction and refuge landscape rather than a hotel district. Titusville, Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, and Melbourne each support an overnight stay with different access to the river, ocean, port, and southern beaches.

Water and causeways shape the trip

The Banana River, Indian River Lagoon, Banana Creek, and Atlantic separate places that look close in a straight line. The Max Brewer, Beachline, Cocoa, Eau Gallie, and Melbourne causeways determine which mainland and beach communities connect directly.

The map simplifies major coast corridors and is not turn-by-turn navigation.
