A causeway crossing the Space Coast lagoon toward the Atlantic

Choose one coast itinerary

Three days on the Space Coast

Choose one clear center: spaceflight from Titusville, surf and Kennedy Space Center from Cocoa Beach, or a cruise extension around Cape Canaveral.

By Cal Mercer

Spaceflight

Titusville

Kennedy Space Center, wildlife, and Indian River launch views.

Beach + space

Cocoa Beach

Surf culture, Atlantic mornings, and one full visitor-complex day.

Cruise extension

Cape Canaveral

A pre-sailing night plus beach, port, or post-cruise spaceflight time.

Rocket Garden displays at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex
The Titusville itinerary gives Kennedy Space Center a complete day.
Sunrise over the Atlantic at Cocoa Beach
The Cocoa Beach itinerary begins and ends by the ocean around a full Kennedy Space Center day.
Cruise ships at Port Canaveral
The Cape Canaveral itinerary separates the port arrival, embarkation, and optional coast day.

Titusville · Spaceflight

Kennedy Space Center and launch country

Stay in Titusville for the visitor complex, refuge roads, and Indian River launch views without adding repeated drives from the southern beaches.

Friday evening

Indian River

Find Space View Park before sunset

Check into Titusville, walk the Indian River at Space View Park, and confirm the launch guide's current public viewing options if a mission is scheduled. Eat along US 1 or in downtown Titusville before returning to the riverfront.

Saturday

Full-day visit

Give Kennedy Space Center the full day

Arrive for opening, take the bus tour to the Apollo/Saturn V Center, then return for Space Shuttle Atlantis and the Rocket Garden. Head back to Titusville after the visitor complex closes.

Sunday morning

Wildlife or seashore

Black Point Wildlife Drive or Playalinda Beach

Start early on Black Point Wildlife Drive or continue to Playalinda Beach when current refuge and seashore access allows. Return through Titusville before the drive home or hold the afternoon for a rescheduled launch.

Cocoa Beach · Ocean

Beach mornings and Kennedy Space Center

Use Cocoa Beach for Atlantic access and surf culture, then reserve one complete day for Kennedy Space Center rather than squeezing it between beach stops.

Friday evening

Saturday

Full-day visit

Leave early for Kennedy Space Center

Arrive for opening, take the bus tour to the Apollo/Saturn V Center, and leave time for Space Shuttle Atlantis. Return to Cocoa Beach for an Atlantic walk after the visitor complex closes.

Sunday morning

Surf or lagoon

Lori Wilson Park, a surf lesson, or the Banana River

Use Sunday morning for a beach walk at Lori Wilson Park, a Cocoa Beach surf lesson, or one guided Banana River paddle. Finish with lunch in Cocoa Beach before checkout or the drive home.

Cape Canaveral · Cruise

A Cape Canaveral cruise extension

Arrive the day before sailing, keep embarkation morning free of attractions, and add a separate coast day only before or after the cruise.

Day before sailing

Arrive early

Confirm the terminal and morning transfer

Reach the coast with time to absorb a flight or highway delay. After checking the terminal details, walk the beach at Cherie Down Park, then have dinner beside the harbor at Port Canaveral.

Embarkation day

Board the ship

Follow the cruise line's arrival window

Eat breakfast near the hotel, allow for cruise-turnover traffic, and go directly to the assigned terminal. Kennedy Space Center does not fit before boarding.

After the cruise

One coast day

Cocoa Beach Pier or Kennedy Space Center

Use a full post-cruise day for Cocoa Beach Pier and the Atlantic shoreline or for Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Store luggage through the hotel or rental plan rather than leaving it visible in a parked car.
