Compare the coast

Which Space Coast base fits?

Titusville shortens the Kennedy Space Center drive. Cocoa Beach puts the Atlantic first. Cape Canaveral suits a cruise night, while Melbourne opens South Brevard.

The short answer

For Kennedy Space Center and launches

Choose Titusville for a short visitor-complex drive and broad Indian River views toward the launch area.

For a first beach trip

Choose Cocoa Beach for surf culture, central coast access, and the clearest beach-town experience.

For a cruise extension

Choose Cape Canaveral for port convenience or Cocoa Beach for more beach-town energy.

For a longer coast stay

Choose Melbourne and the beaches for downtown evenings, South Brevard outings, and days that do not all point north.

Choose the address, not only the city

Barrier-island communities stretch along A1A. A hotel with a Cocoa Beach or Melbourne-area label may sit far from the walkable cluster you imagined. Check beach access, causeway position, parking, and the real dinner walk before booking.

For a first visit

Stay in one area for a three- or four-night trip. Change hotels only when a cruise or a South Brevard extension puts the next morning at the opposite end of the coast.

Typical drives between coast areas

These ranges are for ordinary conditions. Launch crowds, cruise turnover, bridge traffic, and storms can add time.
